Today I had an urge to make something sweet so I got out my favorite cookbook (Joy Of Cooking). It was hard work, I tell you, have you ever tried cooking something with cornstarch in it? It seems like it'll never thicken and then all the second it's as thick as can be. Well, we (my mom and I) had to stir it first with no heat then medium until it thickens and then for a minute on low. It was hard work, but it was deeee...licious.
A delicious dessert by,

What kind of pudding was it?

ReplyDeleteYou are so right about cornstarch. That happens to me when I try to thicken sauces with flour, too... also, I forget to sift the flour, because I am in a hurry, and then it gets lumpy. Oy! then I try to thin it with water a little, then I have to add more flour, you see how this is going to end up . It all tastes like flour and water (which is actually wallpaper paste or papier mache paste.
ReplyDeleteBaking is much more straight forward, most of the time!
